For me, the full admin panel is a big deal, they shouldve retain that. And I know, travel pack 3 just looks like that but i dont like the load lifters and the bottle holder style, i like it better here and its smaller make it a perfect edc bag. I just want to carry everything on the bag itself and not carry another small edc bag, cuz if thats the case, i rather have some of their bags which is lighter

Very timely as I have been trying to decide between these two for EDC, Travel and Hiking. Evade wins for me based on the water bottle pockets, load lifters, self standing, expansion capabilities with the included cord as well as the substantially cheaper price. I only wish it had as comprehensive a Warranty as GR.

Have both Evade in xpac and GR2 in dyneema. Both great bags. Evade is a larger EDC champ, while GR2 is more suitable for travel as personal item.

Evade has been my favorite backpack this size for a long time. It has all the qualities I like, it self stands, has bottle pockets, luggage pass through, load lifters, nice harness. I even like the tapered shape, it’s one issue was it was heavy, and the new version fixed that.

Id like to see you review the Dragonfly 36L and compare it to the GR3 35L to see capacity difference 🥹!!

Love the catalyst, I wish they would include stretch water bottle pockets, or magnets so it doesn't stick out like that. It makes the bag look like a certain male body part 😅

excellent commentary / conclusions - only thing that would make the MLC mini even better would be if they were able to use Aer quality materials on the interior. However that would raise the price and probably not be what their target market wants or expects; the materials they used on the interior are 'good enough' and that price point is hard to beat.

For a long time, as the price of Chanel increased, I no longer thought I could afford it. I think I'll be happy that I have the kislux as my travel bag that I don't have to take care of. By the way, I'm sure no one will have a hard time telling the difference. Thanks for the comparison.

I think the AER Go pack 2 has features that make it more versatile than the Tortuga - the added organization and the luggage pass-thru.

Looking for a new travel backpack since the zippers broke on my Nomatic 30L and the bottle holder magnetic metal pad fell out after 4 years of use.

Seems like Tortuga is finally realizing their bags are too heavy.

I don't get why so many of these packable backpacks don't put a inside zippered pocket so one could keep personal items safe. Mystery Ranch also has a In & out Backpack which folds up pretty small.

as wonderful as there are, Filson has decided to not make them in the US anymore, instead they are made in Vietnam (I called Filson to verify that). Well at least its not China, but still almost $400 for a backpack made overseas.....ugh...

Do you have any info on the third-party strap you used to make a luggage passthrough?

Between this and the Surge, which one would you pick and why? I am currently between the two for school and want to flex it for travel/outdoors. For school, I'll be carrying a laptop, tablet, and a journal or two.

So looking at these bags now they do not have or show the top loading feature. I think I may opt out of these because everywhere I look (Amazon, BH, Google) this 40L bag no longer has a top loading feature or they don’t show it which from a marketing POV is bad.

What laptop size on these bags???

Thank you! Their website is very weak and has no pictures of the interior. The shoulder straps and waist belt are very important to me and I didn't see you speak to this part of the pack. Also, please include running shoes and hiking shoes. Your shoes are very slim and minimal but many people on active vacations have more substantial shoes to pack. Thank you again for the great review!

I have both Bags, the Aer is good for edc, MLC is better for travelling. MLC just holds more and seems to be the same size externally
